Artist Statement

Nature, mysticism, alchemy, climate change, political and global events inspire my conceptual artwork, sometimes naturalist and surrealist, oil paintings on canvas.
I am Italian-Uruguayan, born in a beautiful city by the sea: Montevideo, Uruguay.
My ancestors are Italian, Spanish, and French, so multiculturality is in my blood as well as their artistic curiosity and skills. Design and painting have been a part of my life since I was a little girl. My natural curiosity and willingness to learn led me to look for Art in almost all of its forms: Painting, Fashion Design, Garden Design, Sculpture, Computer Design, Art History. I graduated as an Interior Designer at the College of a famous Italian Artist and Designer: Gino Moncalvo. Painting was a great part of the curriculum, mostly watercolors and perspective techniques applied to furniture, rooms, buildings and interior design. Later I studied Art with focus on oil painting at ABRA-Academia Brasileira de Artes Plasticas in São Paulo, Brazil. I am a member of the International movement Techspressionism where Technology and Expressionism are used for the intervention of my artworks.
Currently I am living at Vancouver, where the presence of Totems and Ancient Tribes Art never fails to amaze me.

What first prompted you to think of becoming an artist?

I have always been an artist, I think we're born this way, with a different sensibility. I love drawing and my collection of tiny sculptures that were oddly available for sale at a closeby store at that time. My first recognition was winning an art contest at five years old. I still remember that drawing.

What kind of an artist do you ultimately see yourself?

I see myself as an artist Internationally Exhibited in Museums and Art Galleries.

What are you hoping to communicate to the viewer through your work?

I like to communicate current events, what's happening in the world and in my interior world and leave that message through my artwork for future generations to come.

Can you explain the process of creating your work?

I face the blank canvas sometimes with an idea of what I want to represent, others not, and a meditation state starts, where the time goes by unnoticed as I am in my own creative world. Most of the time I finished my work 'Alla Prima'

What is your favorite part of the creative process?

Painting, I love my special brushes, spatulas, and the endless creative possibilities of color mixing and shine of a professional grade oil painting.

Can you give us an insight into current projects and inspiration, or what we can look forward to from you in the near future?

I have been recognized as a Techpressionist after entering a contest in NYC. I use Technology for intervening in my oil paintings creating reels with music, 3D, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, creating Crypto art, using design programs. This year I'm going to be exhibiting at my SOLO Booth in ArtExpoNY in November and next year I have been invited to participate in an art exhibition during 7 months in Venice, Italy that would be a great platform for International visibility for my sponsors, usually each Country is proud to sponsor its artists but also big multinationals to want to be a part of this project. The Venice Biennale would be another milestone. I'm currently competing at the Luxembourg Art Prize and it's very exciting to be there. Also, there are many other exhibitions and speaker events planned and new proposals coming periodically.
