ARTIST STATEMENT

Art has nothing to do with Ideology , Religion , Society , Every-day life , Context

What first prompted you to think of becoming an artist ?

There is no certain event , but I have always been thrilled and fascinated by arts. Becoming an artist was never intended , it just happened and developed on my path of making art and going public.

What kind of artist do you ultimately see yourself ?

If there is a goal or aim or a category in art , others define me to be a Neo-Impressionist painter , although I do drawings and land-art as well , being influenced by art-history and contemporary artists.

What do you hoping to communicate to the viewer through your work ?

As it is not possible not to communicate , I don't have or had an intention towards the viewer. The viewer is the artwork and the artwork is the viewer . I don't see my role as an artist to educate anybody which what I express on my canvases .

Can you explain the process of creating your work ?

The painting process begins in my mind and never stops . Once being in the mood of contemplation , I start with a color and just let it go in the flow. My painting process is very fast , every stroke has to fit right away . Full risk : either it becomes good or not. There are no pre-drawings.

What is your favorite part of the creative process ?

Being in the flow , not knowing where it leads me to . It is so interesting and amazing even for myself to see the result . Feeling free and being absorbed from the world outside is the best part during the painting process.

Can you give us an insight into current projects and inspiration , or what can we look forward to from you in the near future ?

My inspiration is life itself , every little detail by waking up in the morning can be an impulse to start painting : a shadow on the wall or a special color in nature during the seasons , or the various whites in winter ( did you know that the Inuit have over 50 words for white ? ) , can be inspiring for me .

My next exhibitions will be Spoleto Arte , Pro Biennale in Venice in May and Triennale di Arte Visive a Roma in June in Rome .

But due to the current situation they might get postponed.
