Artist Spotlight - Anna Jung
Biography
Anna Jung is an artist and achitect, rooted in Germany but born in Poland. She has been residing near Stuttgart. Her artistic journey began in her early teenage years, where she found joy and passion in recreating art pieces. Her teenage years were further enriched by the tutelage of Polish artist Przemyslaw Tomczak. Anna completed a 2-year drawing course in his studio, where she discovered her skill for pencil drawing, the versatility of composition, light-dark contrasts, perspective and proportion theory.
Since then she has been sketching everything around her, especially people in their daily life situations and the spaces surrounding them. The fascination for drawing led her to the field of architecture.
In 2004 she graduated in architecture with two diplomas at the University of Poznan and at the University of Stuttgart.
Anna Jung later became part of an ensemble of after-work artists, guided by German artist Markus Merkle and American artist Sally Grayson at the „Art School Labyrinth“ in Ludwigsburg.
Initially mainly monochrome, realistic drawings develop more and more towards abstract but still representational paintings. She experiments with compositions, combinations of colors and objects.
In 2021, Anna established her own art studio. Since then, she has been an active participant in numerous collective exhibitions of Galeria Azur in Madrid, Berlin, New York and Miami. She was also a part of the Canvas International Art Fair 2023 in Venice, organized by ItsLiquid Group. She participated RED DOT MIAMI in 2023 as well.
Since 2024 she has been offering art workshops for youth and adults in her studio.

Artist Statement
I paint what I see, I paint what I feel, I paint what I miss.
The inspiration comes from everyday life. The greatest inspiration is the immediate surroundings, the big city with its inhabitants in their daily situations, combined with memories and wishes. What is seen and felt at a given moment is unique and unrepeatable. The art is to skillfully arrange what is seen and express emotion through color, form and composition.
The motifs are based on my own photographs, sketches and newspaper clippings that I combine into a collage-like paintings.
I agree with the statement: “A work of art is finished in every stage of creation”.
The process of creation is my main motivation to make art.
