David Pallua
For the Italian painter David Pallua, to become an artist was to courageously refute the expectations of others in order to fulfill a personal dream. Not surprisingly, Pallua values integrity and authenticity as the most important aspect of his artwork. For him, this means to always remain true to his artistic voice. He is drawn to a variety of motifs from portraiture to fantastical, symbolic landscapes. Whatever subject matter he chooses, he carefully considers how to personalize it so as to make it unmistakably his.
Art and creative work have always been his passion and gave him a different view. This abundance and new insight is what he wants to share with the viewer of his paintings. Today David is talking trough his paintings, sculptures and trough his music which all have a profound meaning. His work also started to spread over new, different fields such as installation and wall-paintings. Since 2018 he works as a self-employed artist. Represented by Agora Gallery in Chelsea New York he was part of a collective exhibition in January 2019 called: “On Earth and Elsewhere”. In April 2019 his work was shown on Agora Gallery’s booth on Artexpo New York.
He began with a style of very realistic depiction, later he discovered a combination of realistic and abstract techniques, which is proving to be very interesting to him. This represents the development of his own style.
His work contains personal and positive messages with a calm mood. He allows his own personality to come through his work, and in each, he discovers something new about himself. Some symbols he uses relate to his home, others represent what he have learned in the course of life. The rest shows his way of thinking and seeing. It is important for him to show what the world looks like behind the scenes. Not everything is what it looks like. He shows which emotional attachment is behind his motive, in order to create a reaction of contemplation in the viewer.
