Artist Spotlight - Fran Johnson
Biography
I've been creating and painting nearly all my life. My background is in illustration and graphic design. As a senior art director, my livelihood depended on the best ideas for branding and designing for the client and their products.
Working with teams of young designers gives you perspective on what you want to convey to the public, but it doesn't satisfy the need to create on your level. I found that satisfaction in abstract painting. Selling my work for a couple of years now, I enjoy the creative process, as frustrating as it can be at times.
Artist Statement
Likened to an analogy of short stories, Fran Johnson’s art resonates with a merging of color and light. Noteworthy is her ability to balance chaos with control and give the participant a view of connecting patterns of color. Each painting has a story behind it and presents a linear narrative projecting the enduring power of abstract art to captivate.
She has been fortunate to be accepted into the digital exhibition and catalog four times at the Xanadu Gallery in Scottsdale Arizona, the Contemporary Art Catalog, Circle Arts Magazine, Artavita Online Show, and Contemporary Art Curator Magazine show “Parallel Worlds”.
