How would you describe yourself and your artwork?

I am a visual artist creating my art in few mediums of the arts like sculpture, drawing, painting, prints, photography & video art.

How do you go about beginning a new piece? Do you have an idea already in mind, or do you start working with materials or sketches to find the departure point?

Sometimes I am beginning my art work on a blank sheet of paper or canvas, which means my creation process, is completely reflexive, intuitive & spontaneous. In some of my art works, drawings & sketches are the basic layer which is done to precede the next level of the art work. But there are always changes & occasional elements which are an integral part of my art work process.

When do you think your most prolific time of day or week is?

I create my art works in different times, it changes from morning to noon time or afternoon, or even night time.

What is a barrier you as an artist overcame? Is there anything that enabled you to develop your work as an artist in your life?

There are many barriers which I had to overcome as an artist, in order to be able to create my art works. There is no main one but I can mention one barrier which influenced my artistic perceptions & that is the fact that I have studied analog photography & at a certain point of time the digital cameras had appeared & changed the whole market & the possibilities of creating in the analogical field. That change had influenced my artistic attitude to photography & I neglected it for quiet a time until I have found my own niche & my own way of expression in the new world of digital cameras & photography.

The main thing that enabling me to develop my work as an artist is the inner self conscious like an inner voice, as well as my natural curiosity, which generates my creative forces & leads my way of creating art.

Did you have an idea of what you wanted to create right from the beginning?

My very first art works were large oil paintings as well as drawings, prints & sculptures. I had in mind an idea & a strong feeling for creating those sculptures, which where large iron sculptures combined with molded bee wax. I had a vision of what I would like to create, which finally, after making many drawings & sketches had become three dimensional series of abstract sculptures.

What is the meaning or creative inspiration for your work? We’re curious what the narrative or story is to what you are producing?

It could be related to the understanding & the discovery of new ideas & concepts to which I am exposed for the first time.

Besides your artworks, are there any other things in life that your voice as an artist may consider vital or valuable? What makes you joyful and creative, in other words?

Music is a vital & valuable element which is very influential in my art & in my life. Hearing music & playing music always makes me joyful & creative.

Are there any exhibitions or places where people can see these beautiful creations in person soon? Anything on the horizon?

Yes. Next year I will exhibit my art works in the international Cleo art fair in Los Angeles, USA & in The International Biennale of contemporary art of Argentina.

My art works can be seen on my site: www.visualartprog.org , as well in my studio. Please contact me for more details to Email: ornalbrockarts@gmail.com
