Interview with André Bakoš

Interview with André Bakoš

I am from Sweden with roots in Hungary, that now lives in Paris/Chantilly. I work with horses and along side with my artistry.

Could you please introduce yourself and tell us how you started in the arts? and your first experience in art making?

I am a Swedish guy working with my two passions art and horses. In 2010, feeling at the end of my rope, I sold all of my possessions and bought a one-way ticket to New York. As soon as I took my first steps into Manhattan and experienced the lights, sounds, and raw energy that is New York City, something came alive inside me, and my passion for life was rekindled. Though it took two more years for me to lay brush to canvas, it was in those first moments that my creative spark became what it is today. I currently resides in France.

How would you describe yourself and your artwork?

I think my friends are better to describe me than i am! But my artwork suggesting anything from dense fauna to cosmic radiation to the night sky, my paintings are as infinite as the unexplored and incomprehensible universe.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

LIFE and everything in it!

What emotions do you hope the viewers experience when looking at your art?

LOVE and HAPPINESS!

When do you know that an artwork is finished ?

Its just a feeling i get when i look at my paintings, a feeling of satisfaction, love and happiness.

What has been the most exciting moment in your art career so far?

My very first real exhibition at a gallery. It was a collective exhibition at Agora Gallery in New York that was sold out.

How long does it take to produce one work?

It can take all from hours to years.

What exciting projects are you working on right now?

Im working on my new collection of pieces, that i want to exhibit in Paris.

Do you have any upcoming events or exhibitions we should know about?

I have a bunch of invitations to different events and exhibitions, but i haven't decide where to go yet. I really want the best for my babies, so i am very selective.
