Her work has been published in several books and more than fifty international publications, such as VICE magazine (UK), Vogue (UK), Marie Claire (ME) and Elle (ME).
Marta’s photographic journey begins in 1998. After being self-taught, she was firstly drawn to street photography and “iconic portraiture”, which later on contributed to her success in the world of photo-journalism & blogging. In addition to this, she becomes a regular contributor to Cosmopolitan magazine in years between 2001 to 2009. Meanwhile Marta worked as a photography editor, journalist and producer. However, when she in 2006 shot her first fashion photography commission, she ventures into a career of a freelance photographer.
Following her passion, in 2009 Marta left Ljubljana and moved to London, where she enrolled in Central Saint Martin’s, one of the most respected art school in the world. This was to prove a turning point in her career. Her postgraduate exhibition “Rocks Are Melting” saw her nominated as the “Rising Star” at the 2010 United Kingdom 15 Most Talented Emerging Artists awards. Her portfolio made impression on Vivienne Westwood, the iconic London fashion designer, who becomes one of her regular British clients.
Marta relocated to Dubai in 2013, where she has since worked with numerous fashion and beauty brands, such as Bloomingdales, Burberry, Dior, Tom Ford and so on. She also had the pleasure to work with several high profile celebrities, including Will Smith.
When Marta is not working for clients, she pours her artistic expression into her personal projects. She’s currently creating for her 3rd multimedia solo exhibition and her 1st retrospective photography book.
