Spotlight Artist - Melinda Bunjaku
Biography
I was born 1 May 1990 and raised in Sweden in Malmö city, but I'm originally from Kosovo pristina. When I was 13 years old I started drawing, a teacher noticed this and showed the pictures to her mother who was an artist. She had told her, tell the girl that it is a gift and a talent that she has.
I have never gone to art school but I'm self-taught, I consider my art as the freedom of art and see art as a development. In my paintings I often have a message behind it. I'm not the one who is afraid to express my feelings through my art. During my dark days, I got the bible from a friend as a gift in the USA, I started reading it and since then I have received both deliverance and inspiration. A big thank you to god who sent the messiah, all glory to god, I love you Yahweh.
Artist Statement
Art To me, art is a way of expressing myself. Every time I create a painting it`s like I am sending an invitation for all the people to get a taste of my world. When I am painting or creating I'm stepping into the world of magic. I've heard that art has for many years been controlled but is nowadays in another era of freedom.
The biggest inspirational source for me is simply mother nature, which has a variety of different colours. The colours combined with my imaginations from memories and dreams creates the outcome of my paintings
