Biography

My love of photography was born out of a life-changing journey with grief, many years ago, the loss of my mother. Photography became my companion on that long dark road, through contemplation of life and death and the meaning of everything around me. As I progressed, I began seeing everything through my lens, the darkness, the light, and all the colors in between.

My work is deeply personal as I connect with the world around me. Starting with long serene walks through cemeteries, looking for solace, additionally, my interest grew to include investigating abandoned houses and structures, pondering what secrets they held in their past, and then progressing to the diverse beauty of life through nature, beautiful flowers, birds, butterflies, and animals.

As I compiled an immense amount of images, I had the idea of combining subjects in the photos, to create magical compositions. My work has been juried into many gallery exhibits, winning awards and hopefully inspiring others to see the world with new eyes and to follow their dreams as they journey through their lives.

Artist Statement

Photography is a way for me to express myself through my lens. Bring beauty and encouragement to others, and allow others to see that dark times in life can bring them into a new light. I love capturing images of a beautiful sunset, as well as a tiny bumblebee sipping nectar from a flower. Nothing in life is too large or small to hold its own beauty.
