Artist Statement

My technique is an allegory for letting go of past fears, resentments, and losses in order to move forward. Our generation’s advances in technology and communication have been achieved at an exponential rate, causing a surge of instant gratification to the point of sociological and political toxicity. It is crucial for future generations to remember the “time of the disc” for the patience required to receive our entertainment and neutral news media. This series is also a love letter to the music, films, shows, and games that ignited my creative spark. Lastly, the upcycling of the obsolete discs promotes sustainability.
