Noemi Galavotti
Biography
Noemi Galavotti combines her expertise in linguistic mediation and opera set design to conceive an idiosyncratic approach to visual art. Empathy and mediation are the core concepts she uses to construct art that lives from the canvas versus simply upon it. She utilizes a variety of materials to create works that wrangle with what every living thing must: confluence, tension, and accord. Galavotti has exhibited her works nationally and abroad.
Artist Statement
I have always been intrigued by communication and human interaction. How to convey a message, how to give a good explanation, how to find common ground and how to reach emotions often hidden in depth or behind a façade. So, I tend to prefer abstract nature, a condition that helps me to analyse the connection among sensations, words, sounds and images. Peer to peer communication is equally as urgent as my focus on the astonishing beauty (and endangerment) of the natural world.
