Bogdan Dyulgerov

Biography

Bogdan Dyulgerov was born in 1965 in the town of Sliven Bulgaria. In 1989 he has graduated from the Medical College in Varna as a Dental Technician. Since then Bogdan has actively been practising his profession. His passion for painting dates back to the years of his childhood. The most significant moment in his creative journey was when Bogdan painted his first abstract works and he realised that paintings happen by themselves, through him but not by him. He stopped "forcing the canvas'' and since then his works came to life. Bogdan's interest in sculpture began during his high school years. Bronze is his favourite material.
His first bronze sculptures were cast while he was a student in the Medical College. Since 2008 Bogdan Dyulgerov has been living and working in Malta.

Artist Statement

Abstract art gives me unlimited freedom to use various techniques and materials to create my own world of symbols and forms. Like a jazz musician during an improvisation, I let my hands and imagination compose on the canvas until it reverberates with beautiful music. I strive to create music for the eyes. For me, painting is an intuitive process during which the information passes through me in a form of energy, which I can then materialize on the canvas.
