Irina Ges

Biography

My name is Irina Ges. I was born in Riga, Latvia, on March 15th 1976. Currently living and working in Vilnius, Lithuania.
I have already realized myself as a woman, as a mother, as a wife and as a businesswoman and now I have opportunities, time and a great desire to realize myself in art. I thank life, that I can do what I love only. I am grateful to my parents for my set of genes and creativity. And I thank everyone for their interest in my artworks.

Artist Statement

Metamodernism most accurately defines my inner state, my creativity and my life. To combine the seemingly incompatible into one. Enlightened naivety, pragmatic idealism, moderate fanaticism, oscillating between irony and sincerity, construction and deconstruction, apathy and attraction, optimism and doubt. I feel this time and space every moment and want to capture these states on canvas. In my art I don't want to choose between being a sculptor or an artist, just by combining these techniques I feel a fire of incredible power inside. I realised that I could bring it together.
Through my works, I want to share the ability to sense the moment. We live as if we will never die. But it's not. I have changed a lot and continue to change, already consciously. I feel a tremendous sense of love and gratitude for every moment of my lif and I want my work to inspire people, give strength and confidence, the desire to learn new things, experiment, change, trust yourself and life, be brave, want change, not avoid them. I try to convey all this through the colors, shapes, images and states that radiate from my works. I believe that everyone can make their life the way they want.
