Juliet Petrarulo
Biography
I studied for 4 years and gained a first degree in fine art on the Isle of Man. The paintings I have previously worked on are a series called 'childhood dreams' and 'childhood memories'. My more recent work is reflected in my emotions and experiences. I paint subconsciously dreamlike and create a story by capturing images from memory. I'm inspired by colour, tone and texture. The light and elements of nature. Artist Statement
A brief about each painting;
'Dead goose on the table' is a childhood memory. My father brought a poorly goose home in a box and placed it by the park-ray fire in the kitchen. The next morning at breakfast the goose flew around the kitchen and fell dead on the table.
'Doors' memories through doors that appeared in my subconscious.
'Drive through the mountains' the emotional impact of the vastness of the view.
'The crow over land' carbon collects in the soil to help climate change and the bird is depicting life.
'Iceland' the impact of a visit to Iceland depicting the dramatic beautiful landscape.
’Lost in the moment' a place to go where you feel at one and at peace with yourself.
'Worried world' the emotional impact of events in the present day.
’Redbrick and coal' memories of childhood, my father a coal man and the village where I grew up.
