Ramón Rivas
Biography
Born in the Lands of Don Quixote, Ciudad Real (Castilla-La Mancha / Spain). His family environment and the multidisciplinary influence of his professional activities on; sports, music, engineering, inventions and art, in Castilla-La Mancha and Madrid, were decisive for the artistic creation, of a very personal and different style, called Rivismo, based on the application of Experiential Brushstrokes.
During the last seventeen years, his research has managed to reinforce the Concepts and Philosophy that predominate in Rivismo and that have given prominence to material and immaterial elements to which he has assigned aspects, functions and specific values of people.
As proof for art lovers, the most direct method has been used to publicize his works. He has made individual and collective exhibitions, in several countries; Spain, China, South Korea, Italy, Denmark, United States, among others. In addition, there are works in the collection of several Museums in; Spain, Denmark and South Korea. The influence of the Internet; Websites, blogs and social networks have contributed very quickly to making this artistic proposal known. In response to all this dissemination of his work, he has received good news by being recognized by being invited to international exhibitions, interviews, inclusion in books and art magazines, and receiving multiple international awards. In relation to these awards, some of them are mentioned; Winner Futurist Artist Award / Artist of the Year / International Prize Leonardo da Vinci / International Prize “Ambassador of Art / Power of Creativity Art Prize / International Prize David Michelangelo / International Prize New York City / Artist of the Decade / International Prize Caravaggio.
Artist Statement
My work has a marked stamp of personal identity that I apply freely and without limitations. I use my creativity to be different and look for new artistic proposals that surprise and excite. I achieve this through Rivismo, which is my personal style.
My good imagination has been and is essential to develop creative, innovative works that interact positively before the gaze of the observer. My training, among others, as a Project and Organization Engineer, makes me work in an orderly and methodical way, studying the best alternatives. I supervise the good execution, I introduce scientific themes, and given the number of elements and concepts used, so different from each other, I apply a specific balance to the composition, obtaining from the painting a walkable space for the viewer. As a result, images are produced with elaborate precision work, featuring striking density and depth that are visually captivating. For this reason, I prefer to work in large format. In these spaces, I can efficiently capture my artistic interior in a tangible way.
Therefore, my works are not intended to be mere decorative objects, but a skilful source of provocation that encourages the viewer to participate and, at the same time, to become a creative artist during their journey through the stage and while the images remain engraved on their retina.
