What first prompted you to think of becoming an artist?

I was 9 or 10 years old when I started drawing and my wish was to study in some studio. It was in Moscow, at that time we were living under the socialist regime. Unfortunately, this did not happen and I forgot about this thought. My work was not related to art. Much later I moved to live in Barcelona and continued working in the same professional area as in Moscow. One idea constantly was coming to my mind - I would like to try to draw a picture and master a musical instrument. But nevertheless, nothing new was happening in my life until suddenly I realized that I could no longer postpone my desires for the future. I have found drawing courses in Barcelona and started my study. I was coming home late at night after school, very tired - but I was incredibly happy.

What kind of an artist do you ultimately see yourself?

It is very difficult to answer this question while the search is still continuing, I am very interested in symbolism and abstraction.

What are you hoping to communicate to the viewer through your work?

Energy! I would like to remind people that they have incredible energy inside of the body and can use it for the benefit of themselves and others. The human body is a very complex structure and it can cope with many diseases on its own.

Can you explain the process of creating your work?

For example, after meditating I draw on a piece of paper the first thing that the subconscious give out. The next step is to give the color with watercolor pencils. After, using the same theme, I can make the drawing with pastel and dry pigment. And finally, I work it out with acrylic on canvas.

What is your favourite part of the creative process?

The final stage of work when I work with pastels, this might be the last line drawn with black charcoal. The line should be strong and clear as the future of the drawing depends on it. Whether it is destined to live or not. And in watercolor technique, for example, this is a sketch of the background, where absolutely incredible images can appear.

Can you give us an insight into current projects and inspiration, or what we can look forward to from you in the near future?

I would like to create works with some unique world of fantasy, where could be living unusual creatures who sometimes appears on the paper without my will.
