All in Painting
As a self-taught artist, my creative process is so rooted in my personal experiences and the themes I’ve been drawn to throughout my life, particularly the strength and resilience of women. I often draw the themes from the diverse cultures I've lived in.
Painter of oils on canvas, inspired by the romantic masters of the 19th century. I like the surrealist style, in the footsteps of Dali, whom I particularly appreciate. After seven years of study at the Beaux Arts of Dunkirk (Flemish School in France), I was a private student for two years, of Xavier Degans (student and collaborator of Salvador Dali). I have been working since then on the creation of medium-format oils on canvas.
Mexican American artist Ivonne Torres is a dynamic Abstract Expressionist painter whose vibrant use of color and texture creates compelling and harmonious compositions. Her artwork serves as an emotional outlet, allowing her feelings to flow freely onto the canvas. Drawing and painting have always been my way of expressing myself. Nature is the primary source of inspiration. Painting for me creates a meditative state of being, where I connect to the elements and the rhythm of nature, weaving dreams and visions into my artwork. The interconnectedness of all things in nature represents a deep unity within myself, and inspires me to create art.
Mishel has always had a gift for uniting colour and design, and has shown an almost zen-like understanding of nature, which manifests both in her early career as a designer, as well as in the work she creates today. Unique and subtle in style, there is great depth in the complex yet organic forms that emerge on the canvas in her chosen medium of Alcohol ink.
In the last three decades, I have been creating wall-mounted, cast resin and aluminum sculptures combined with canvas and gold leaf, and exploring the computer as an art tool for creating digital artwork. All my life, I have loved to create art full of emotions and feelings, "soul," with the satisfaction of fun. I am interested in the balance and composition of colours and objects rather than the reality of the items.
What always attracted Karel in painting and Plastic arts is the way art “makes visible” things and ideas that are “not visible” as such in the simple visible world but which “appear” by some sort of magic in the minds of the viewer. It took him over twenty years to sort out the difference between “symbols” (a “convention” accepted among a group or a code system designed to communicate a secret meaning), and “metaphor” which, by assembling things unusual, by irony and paradox, allows the individual mind to “discover” the meaning the painter intended to transmit.
In Tedo’s art, the theatrical and the everyday intertwine. Calm, colorful, and cozy environments suddenly give way to the commotion of characters, histories, and deeply personal narratives. With a single touch, ordinary figures become dramatic players, embodying philosophical and social symbols that reflect the complexity of existence. His works juxtapose vibrant color palettes with cosmic black, creating visual tension between harmony and chaos, humor and reflection.
The two most powerful mediums for me have been Raku Sculptural Ceramics and my new technique called “Fluid Dimensions”. Both methods are controlled and spontaneous at the same time. Both are a fine balance of technique and serendipity. It is in the letting go that the work becomes what it is meant to be.
Katinka Lampe paints portraits. Or at least, you can clearly recognise the representation of a person. Yet, this is not the main motive of the painting. The portrait merely serves as reason to make the painting. The portrait is the imagery concept. Her paintings greatly appeal to the beholders.
My artistic process is deeply connected with my emotional state, and the balance between free-flowing lyrical painting and structured geometric abstracts reflects this relationship.
Each approach serves its purpose in helping me process and express my emotions. Sometimes the process begins with a burst of unrestrained creativity, followed by moments of refinement and control. Other times, I need the stability of planning and structure.
Sherry is from the Midwest and began painting full time after retiring to Florida. She currently resides in SW Florida and enjoys painting contemporary abstract. Being mostly self taught she passionately paints in a unique way using lots of color and expressive movements!
Her abstract style draws attention to color first then pulls the viewer’s eyes deeper into the art with intuitive movements of paint. Many pieces of her work with heavy texture, colorful paints, sharp lines and marks reveals her Native American ancestry
My current artworks are traditional. oil on canvas. To achieve particular expressions and to show the inner spirit of the object, I stylize forms of nature, humans and objects by simplifying them in my unique way. For the last 10 years, I have aimed at the resemblance by observing all objects and transfer onto canvas by signs.
My journey as a digital artist started as a photographer seeing the world in a different way than most other people. My photographs I was told by some of my fellow photographers were not as perfect as they should be. They looked down at me for not going that extra distance to perfect them. Yet, the world itself is not perfect and so I thought my work was fine.
Anna Jung is an artist and achitect, rooted in Germany but born in Poland. She has been residing near Stuttgart. Her artistic journey began in her early teenage years, where she found joy and passion in recreating art pieces. Her teenage years were further enriched by the tutelage of Polish artist Przemyslaw Tomczak. Anna completed a 2-year drawing course in his studio, where she discovered her skill for pencil drawing, the versatility of composition, light-dark contrasts, perspective and proportion theory.
Lisa Lockett, an American fine art painter, began drawing at the age of five and would later own a design firm that would eventually serve as a catalyst for her art. Lisa uses rich oils and deep layers to convey abstract ideas, moods, and emotions. The bold lighting and dark contrast she gives to her paintings seem to glide off the surface with fine blending and brilliance.
Throughout my journey as an artist, I have experienced significant changes in both my artistic style and approach to my subjects. From my time studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, Poland to gaining recognition, my work has evolved gradually over the years.
